Acupuncture

AcupunctureAcupuncture is a gentle, safe treatment option for many conditions.  Very fine needles are inserted into specific points of the body.  Most people find acupuncture rarely hurts, and often is very relaxing.  Often there is a sensation at the insertion area such as mild aching, tingling or itching.  The needles stay in for a short time, usually 20 to 30 minutes, while you rest.  After treatment, you may feel tired or very relaxed.  It is best to refrain from overly stressful or strenuous tasks after an acupuncture treatment.

Acupuncture points are specific energetic centers on the acupuncture channels.  Individual acupuncture points can be seen as “access points” to the energy of the channel.  Needles inserted at these points adjust the flow to help the body rebalance and become healthier.

The channels, also known as meridians or vessels, are a distribution network that moves energy, blood and nourishment.  There are 12 main channels that can be mapped throughout the body.  Their location varies from shallow to deep, and quick-moving to slow-moving, yet always following the path of least resistance.  The acupuncture meridians are the energetic unification system for the whole body.

Acupuncture can provide relief and healing for many kinds of conditions and diseases.
